Before School Care

7:30am - 9:00am

  • Our before school care program is designed to get your child’s school day off to a positive start. Parents can drop their child off through our main entrance between 7:30am - 8:30am. From our main space, our Program Leaders will escort the children to their respective classrooms prior to the morning bell and supervise to ensure safe entry into the school.

    To register for before and after school care, your child must be enrolled in classes at Sir James Douglas Elementary. Offered for grades K-5.

After School Care

2:30pm - 6:00pm
$315.00/Month

  • Our after school care program is our biggest offering, with over 120 students enrolled. Children are divided into four groups based on age (and availability), and will be assigned a classroom at the start of the year.

    Our Program Leaders will assist in a supervised pick-up from the child’s classroom at the end-of-day school bell and take them to their after school classroom where they’ll partake in planned activities, free-time and supervised play until they are signed-out at pick-up.

    We do provide all children in the program with a daily nutritious snack, courtesy of Root Cellar.

    To register for before and after school care, your child must be enrolled in classes at Sir James Douglas Elementary. Offered for grades K-5.

Pro D Day Care

8:00am - 5:30pm
$50.00/Day

  • We offer day camps for children in Elementary school during most Pro D days. There is limited space and registration opens one month prior. All Early Years programs are closed on Pro D days.

Preschool

9:00 am - 1:00 pm

  • This four-hour program offers children ages 2.5-4 an opportunity to get used to a classroom environment guided by a high adult to child ratio.

    Children will participate in a daily routine that follows circle time, outdoor play, exploration and learning activities. Our personally curated areas of development outline our program’s commitment to individual and holistic growth and provide our educators with clear goals for students. 

    Our educators guide children through areas of exploration to inspire curiosity, discover new concepts and expose students to a variety of topics that enhance development.

    This program does NOT require your child to be registered with Sir James Douglas Elementary.

Jr. Kindergarten

8:30 am - 2:30 pm

Spring Break & Summer Camps

8:00am - 5:30pm
$225.00/Week

  • SJD OSC offers full day camps in spring and summer where children engage in weekly themed activities, projects, and trips.

    Registration opens in January and April with limited slots available.

  • This six-hour program runs concurrently with the hours of SJD Elementary and focuses on school readiness by mimicking the flow of a kindergarten classroom.

    Daily, children ages 3.5-5 will participate in circle time, intentional learning activities and projects guided by a Social Emotional Learning Curriculum. Students will be offered a nutritious morning snack of organic fruit provided by Root Cellar Grocers and a hot lunch prepared on site each day by a food-safe certified cook.

    This program is intended for children in their final year before Kindergarten.

    This program does NOT require your child to be registered with Sir James Douglas Elementary.
